How the camera check works
- Pick any exercise. Squat, push-up, lunge, biceps curl and plank have the most detailed check.
- Prop up your phone with your whole body in view.
- Start moving. It counts as you go and speaks up when it sees an issue.
- After your set, see which muscles you likely trained and what it flagged.
Muscle reports are estimated from your movement, not measured from your muscles.
Questions
What is RepSensei?
RepSensei is a free workout app that runs in your phone browser. It logs your sets, explains 871 exercises, and can use your camera to count reps and flag what it can see in any of them.
Is RepSensei free?
Yes. It is free and needs no account or card.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Body tracking runs on your device. Video is not recorded or uploaded.
Which exercises does the camera check?
All of them. For each exercise it follows the movement shown in its 3D guide, counts your reps or times stretches and holds, and flags big swings. Squats, push-ups, lunges, biceps curls and planks also have a more detailed form check. Squats and push-ups have had the most testing on real movement. Tracking for the rest of the library is newer and rougher, so expect more misses there.
Can a camera tell me my form is correct?
No. It can only flag what it sees from one angle, such as depth or sagging hips. It can't see everything, such as your back rounding, so no issue seen doesn't mean perfect form.
Which phones does it work on?
It runs in a modern phone browser. So far it has been tested on Android in Chrome, and iPhone has not been tested yet.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once it has loaded, it works without a connection.
Where is my workout history saved?
On your device. Clearing your browser data can erase it, so save a backup file from Progress now and then.
