RepSenseiBest AI Form Check Apps in 2026
A handful of apps now use your phone camera to count reps or comment on your form. They vary widely: some watch you live, others analyse an uploaded clip, and they cover very different exercises. No app replaces a qualified coach, and accuracy depends on lighting and camera angle. We make RepSensei, so we have tried to be clear about its limits too.
How we picked
We checked store listings and official sites in November 2026. We looked at whether analysis is live or from a recording, which exercises are covered, price, platforms, and what each says about where video is processed. We left out apps we could not find a current listing for: FormCheck AI (Rainey LLC) and Onyx no longer appear on the App Store, and Kemtai is sold to healthcare providers rather than to individuals.
1. RepSensei
Best for: Free, private rep counting in the gym
Free with no account. Counts reps or times holds for any of 871 exercises, live, processed on the phone. The detailed form check covers 5 exercises; tracking for the rest is newer and rougher.
2. Zing AI
Best for: An all-in-one AI coach
AI-planned workouts with real-time camera movement tracking and a body scan, on iPhone and Android. Subscription required for Premium; the listing does not say which exercises the camera covers.
3. Strive AI
Best for: Bodyweight home workouts on iPhone
Uses the camera live to count reps and correct form in moves such as squats, push-ups and lunges, with an adaptive plan. iPhone only, with few ratings so far.
4. FormCheck (calisthenics)
Best for: Planche, front lever and handstand
An Android app that analyses calisthenics skills from video or live, processed on the device. Some features are free; Premium unlocks unlimited analysis.
5. AiKYNETIX and Lift AiK
Best for: Running, jumping and Olympic lifts
Analyse recorded clips for running form, jumps and lifts such as the snatch and clean and jerk, including bar path. iPhone apps with a 7-day trial, then a subscription.
Checked in 2026-11. RepSensei is our own app; we've tried to be fair about where others do better.
